Marcel Ostertag // AW22
Collection Recap
Made with love. Made to make you shine. Made with positive energy.
As personal as ever, Marcel Ostertag takes us back to the 70s with his newest collection, to a time full of colour, good vibes, and exciting shapes. This season, the designer did not only send models down the runway but his closest customers, his muses, and fans of his designs.
Since starting his namesake label, Marcel Ostertag’s focus has been to create pieces with longevity made from sustainable materials. Made in Berlin and Poland to avoid long delivery distances; his collections are a perfect mix of the highest craftsmanship and an emotional message.
Marcel Ostertag opened his “Love Child” collection with a lot of green looks, which might be symbolizing the united hope for a better and peaceful future.
In a world of colours, shapes, and good energy, Marcel Ostertag manages to create pieces that are as exciting as ever but have the potential to become an ultimate wardrobe classic. Flowy caftans and shirt dresses are worn with maxi coats or knits. His signature style is playing with different textures and patterns of his materials, mixing sequins with knits, which he perfected in this collection.
Not only did we see a lot of monochrome looks in bright colors, but also color blocking. Green met Yellow and Blue and became a perfect synergy. Maxi dresses came in knits, as well as laced volants for a hint of drama. A lot of shapes were inspired by the 70s: power suits in monochrome colors or all over sequins with palazzo pants and tailored jackets.
Memorable moments were the unique pearl Accessoires. Whether arranged like a corsage, a body chain or a striped scarf. An absolute highlight of the collection.
Marcel Ostertags “Love Child” seems to be a child of love, hope and a lot of colors. On the runway, we saw almost every color of the rainbow, giving us the joyful collection we all need right now.
