Where the German creative and fashion scene meets
Der Berliner Salon
Der Berliner Salon has been the centrepiece of the German and Berlin fashion scene for years. Its main intention: Emphasizing and supporting the multifaceted craftsmanship and art of German design. On March 14, as part of MBFW, designers and manufactures from different areas like fashion, jewellery, and accessories are given again the opportunity to showcase their newest collection in the group exhibition.
Located at the Kraftwerk Berlin, the guests of Der Berliner Salon can enjoy excellent talks with other fashion insiders, press and buyers, as well as lively exchanges with the designers. This energy has always been the drive for the initiators Marcus Kurz, CEO of the agency Nowadays and Organizer of MBFW, and Christiane Arp, former VOGUE Germany Editor-in-Chief.
“With Der Berliner Salon, we want to continue to set relevant impulses in a physical format and expand awareness of German fashion and design nationally and abroad. Mindful production approaches, future-oriented design as well as craftsmanship continue to be in the foreground this season“, says Kurz.
As every year, Christiane Arp, who always valued and supported the mindset and ideas of the German fashion creatives, will be curating the presentation of the creative attendees’ designs.
Der Berliner Salon is supported by Stephan Schwarz, Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises Berlin: “The concept of Der Berliner Salon is unparalleled in Germany and is the heart of the German fashion industry. No other German city captures the spirit of our times as authentically as Berlin. The group exhibition proves the innovative spirit, orientation towards sustainability, as well as the quality and creativity of “Design Made in Germany”.
From established designers to young brands exhibiting for the first time, the focus always revolves around the art of craftsmanship. Brands like Aeyde, Odeeh, Rianna+Nina, jewellery designers Anna Auras and Maximova and accessories brands such as Lutz Morris will present their stories and newest designs. German Design at its best!
Der Berliner Salon will be open to invited guests on March 14th. The exhibition will be digitally accessible via the websites fashionweek.berlin and mbfw.berlin as well as on Instagram @derberlinersalon and @mbfw.berlin.
